History

The year 2008 was the time that Joao Carlos Ongaratto launched the very first Chama Gaucha restaurant in San Antonio, Texas. He made sure that the first restaurant incorporated the best of both worlds:

The traditional dining experience, including the warm and welcoming atmosphere of his hometown within Southern Brazil and the colorful variety in Southern Texas, his adopted home. The result was that Chama Gaucha continues to carve its niche within the foodservice industry as one of the best Churrascarias in Texas.

Following the popularity in San Antonio, San Antonio restaurant, the Chicago, Illinois restaurant opened its doors in the year 2009. There were other establishments opened in Houston, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia soon followed.
